Cambridge Youth Soccer Travel Teams (BAYS)
Cambridge Youth Soccer teams participate in a travel league called BAYS (Boston Area Youth Soccer). We "level" our teams so that players are playing with teammates at a similar skill level, playing against teams from other cities and towns (usually within the I-495 beltway) also at a similar level. Teams are formed from two-year age groups, with 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, and 7th and 8th graders playing together. Therefore, the make up of teams changes every year.
Player evaluations are typically held in May to form teams for the following school year. Team rosters are maintained from the fall to the spring.
BAYS teams practice twice a week with one game per weekend, usually on Saturdays. 3/4th graders play 7v7, 5/6th graders play 9v9, and 7/8th graders play 11v11, all on appropriately sized fields.
A list of current Cambridge Teams in BAYS can be found here: https://bays.org/bays/organizations/view/CAM
