Champions League (in-town for 3rd-5th graders)
CYS Champions League is recreational soccer at its absolute best! Teams have a weekly afternoon practice and a weekly Saturday game, all in Cambridge. Games are played in a 7v7 format. Coaches are volunteers from the community, often but not always parents (just like our BAYS travel teams) with help and support from CYS coaching leadership. Players are encouraged to practice with more than one team (e.g., their own and one other) if they want to play soccer more than one afternoon a week.
Champions League teams are named for countries (the people naming the teams and the people naming the league did not coordinate, but it works for us), and we end the year with an all-day “World Cup” tournament in late spring, which we believe is the best youth sporting event we have ever seen.
In a word, this league is awesome! Please consider joining the Champions League and you and your kids will fall in love with the game as well as the city of Cambridge.
Players will receive a team jersey.
