About Premier League Soccer (1st and 2nd grade)
Premier league soccer is a Saturday morning activity with a ~45 minute practice followed by a game against another team. The focus in Premier League is for the kids to start to develop their love of the game by building skills in a fun environment, and to provide kids in many cases with their first opportunity to play on a team. It is great fun.
Sessions start at either 9:00, 10:30 and for boys league only some 12:00, varying week to week for each team. Girls play at Ahern Field in East Cambridge and boys play at Russell Field in North Cambridge.
CYS programming is focused on player development through play, with methods supported by Mass Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer. It is a very fun and competitive experience to play in Cambridge Youth Soccer, and it can be a great foundation for a life of competitive high level or not-competitive recreational love for the game.
About Champions (3rd and 4th grade), City League (5th and 6th) and City League (7th and 8th)
Champions and City League teams play a weekly game on Saturday in Cambridge, mostly at Danehy Park. The younger leagues typically play earlier on Saturday than the older leagues. Teams hold weekly practices led by volunteer coaches, typically on a weekday afternoon around 5:00 PM, with time and location specific for each team. We ask for information from all players about preferred practices times and locations before the season begins, and we do our best to place kids on teams whose practices fit within their families’ schedules.
We culminate the spring season with a one-day City Championship (aka “World Cup”) at Danehy Park that is not to be missed. We know it is the highlight of the year for so many kids in Cambridge.

About Cambridge City Football Club (CCFC) “travel” teams
Cambridge Youth Soccer also fields select teams in the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL) for players in grades 5-8. CCFC teams have a weekly practice and a Sunday game against other clubs in the Metro Boston area. Tryouts for CCFC teams are held in May. To be eligible for CCFC, a player must also continue to play on a City League team.
